Witness the shared beauty of the people of Bangkok and Los Angeles and celebrate the diversity of Los Angeles through the?City of Angels?exhibition in Thai Town on Saturday, April 6 from 7pm to midnight. Also view it at the same place the next day on Sunday, April 7, during Thai New Year celebration Song Kran, from 11am to 4pm. Come see a body of photographic art that explores the similarities between the two cities that possess the name,?City of Angels. The images reveal the striking similarities between two vastly different cultures and provide the viewer with the understanding that we are all the same, regardless of where we live.
This exhibition has already toured Thailand through the US State Department's program called Visual Arts Initiative. (All information regarding this exhibition can be found at.. ?http://www.angelsofthecity.com.) ?Through the generous support from the, Royal Thai Consular General, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Community Development Center, Singha Beer and other anonymous donors, all can celebrate an evening of art and entertainment.
On April 6th, Groove to the sounds of KCRW's Raul Campos and Mark Kates, imbibe in the tastes of Singha beer, observe the blending of tradition and contemporary Thai dance and sample the flavors of Thailand by http://www.streetsofthailand.com/. ?
On April 7th is Thai New Years and is packed with another eventful day of fun as Hollywood Blvd is shut down between Western and Normandie. That day will mark the unveiling of the Kinarra Lamp Posts, Muay Thai wrestling, a beauty pageant and more. ?Over 100,000 people are in attendance of this event.
